a. Introduction:
This program is a new interdisciplinary field that integrates space frontier science, electronic information, and earth/space physics. It plays a crucial role in advancing human cognition. Focusing on the talent needs of major national initiatives such as developing space technology and exploring aerospace territories, this program integrates electronic information with space science. It is the only program of its kind in China that specializes in electronic information. Basic courses include subjects such as mathematics, physics, computer science, and STEM engineering skill practice. Core courses in space information science cover areas like circuit/signal analysis, analog/digital circuits, electromagnetic field and antennas, aerospace electronics technology, as well as communication, measurement, control, and space physics and observation. Optional courses are offered in two modules: space science and aerospace electronics technology, featuring over 10 courses, including space astronomy, device physics, and satellite engineering.
This program is recognized as a first-class program in Shaanxi Province. It includes two MOE key laboratories, one provincial and ministerial key laboratory, an industry-education platform, and joint laboratories with several renowned research institutes and enterprises in the field. The program features advanced and comprehensive experimental equipment worth nearly RMB 100 million. The core teachers have led the National Basic Research Program (the 973 Program) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as the Special Fund for Research on National Major Research Instruments. They have also undertaken a series of high-level projects, including the National High-tech R&D Program (the 863 Program), the 173 Program, equipment pre-research, and the national high-level talent program. Students have a wide range of employment opportunities. They may work in areas such as space exploration, space applications, space resource development, and aerospace technology within space agencies. Alternatively, they can pursue careers in scientific research institutions or higher education institutions, focusing on space science research or further studies. Moreover, they can enter industries that require highly reliable electronic systems, including communications, medical treatment, and automotive electronics.
