Educational Background:

He received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Communication and Electronic Systems from Xidian University in 1984, 1988, and 1995 respectively. From 1998 to 1999, he was a visiting scholar at Doshisha University in Japan.

Work Experience:

From 1997 to 2020, he successively served as deputy head of the Department of Measurement and Control Engineering, vice dean of the School of Mechano-Electronic Engineering, dean of the independent college, director of the library, director of the Academic Affairs Office, and dean of the School of Networking and Continuing Education of Xidian University.

Awards and Honors:

Guo Baolong, Ph.D., is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at Xidian University, serving as the Vice Chairman of the Steering Sub-Committee on the Teaching of Basic Courses in Electrical Engineering and Electronics of the Ministry of Education (MOE) and a Member of the Steering Committee on the Teaching of Basic Engineering Courses of the MOE. He is also an MOE-recognized expert in engineering education. He is the Vice President of the China Education Society of Electronics and a Senior Member of IEEE, and has served as a co-chair or program committee chair for international conferences such as IAS09 and ISDA08. He received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Communication and Electronic Systems from Xidian University in 1984, 1988, and 1995 respectively. From 1998 to 1999, he was a visiting scholar at Doshisha University in Japan. He is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of image engineering, pattern recognition, circuits, and intelligent systems. He has presided over 6 national 863 Program projects and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published 10 textbooks and monographs, won a second prize in the National Teaching Achievement Award, received 12 teaching and science and technology awards at the provincial and ministerial levels, and obtained 18 national invention patents. He has published 260 papers indexed by SCI/EI in domestic and foreign academic journals and international conferences such as Science China, Chinese Science Bulletin, Chinese Journal of Electronics, Chinese Journal of Computers, Chinese Journal of Lasers, Neurocomputing, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, and Remote Sensing. He is recognized as an Outstanding MOOC Teacher of Chinese Universities, a Famous Teacher in Shaanxi Province, and a National Outstanding Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentor. He is also the course head of Signals and Systems, which is a national excellent resource-sharing course and a national first-class course.
